Case Study: OCR

COPYWRITING: words that sell

One of the leading UK educational awarding bodies, OCR (Oxford, Cambridge & RSA) provides qualifications for learners of all ages at school, college, in work or through part-time learning programmes. In a competitive market constrained by Government regulations, OCR has many subject qualifications to sell to schools and colleges.

OCR asked Ideal Worldsmiths to create a series of one-minute, subject-specific elevator pitches for its sales people. The interesting paradox is that an elevator pitch is apparently not a sales pitch. Yet, there is a product to sell – and, whatever the specific qualification, the values and approach of OCR had to shine through every time.

Ideal talked us through the different approaches and came up with a very logical, yet persuasive approach to help our sales people make an engaging connection, then offer an objective solution with a relevant USP. Feedback was very positive.
